HOTPOT LOVERS!!! Make your way here ASAP for an authentic, delicious hot pot experience. This ALL YOU CAN EAT hotpot restaurant in the Chinatown area will have you leaving full and happy! Choose from a wide variety of broths, heat levels, meats, appetizers, veggies, and fresh juices, while creating your own dipping sauces and guess for how much? About $30 a person! That's it!!! The decor actually was shipped in from China to add to your authentic experience. There's also vegan and vegetarian options available, so there's something for everyone. Head out to to indulge your tastebuds and tell 'em that Planes and Plates sent you! Enjoy!!!
My first hot pot experience and i loved it! It was all you can eat for a set price, then you pay extra for the broths and the sauce bar. After everything, we all spent around $40 which i think is a good deal for the quality of food and the experience. We had a lot of fun with the sauce bar and trying different combinations. We ordered the mushroom and tomato broth and the tomato was our favorite of the two. I would absolutely return Note that there is no alcohol served here.
I have been here twice now and both times I have found the AYCE option to be pretty solid. Each time the total has come out to about 48$ a person, once broth and sauces were picked out which isnt super cheap but it isnt horrendously expensive. Our ingredients were all fresh and the quality was not bad either. They have a decent selection of broths to choose from whether you want to do one or a pick 2 option and get the best of both worlds. At the sauce bar they have a variety of sauces/spices/seasonings one can pick out to enhance the flavor of the food to dip into. Where they get dinged would be in service. Food service is slow, had to ask multiple times for the same item or a refill for water. Sometimes what we ordered would not come out with the food and we would have to ask a few times for it. One example would be the rice or noodles. They do have a bell system where you can ring for service which is a nice touch rather than trying to find and flag down a server. Overall, I do enjoy this place and I do recommend it to others. Its broth and ingredients are fairly solid and fresh. Just dont expect to get in and out in a timely fashion, just sit back and enjoy!
High quality and authentic broth with an extensive sauce station. Abundance of sauce and spices to make the perfect dipping sauce. Meat presentations are nice and meat is high quality. Ambiance is great as each table has a divider from the next. Staff was friendly and constantly checked on us. Meats are a la carte but portions match prices and good value. Easy to find on the corner of the street close to the CTA station.
